Employee Spotlight: Jesus Hernandez, Recruiting Coordinator

Our mission at Instawork is to create economic opportunities for local businesses and professionals, globally. In order to achieve that mission, we have built a team composed of talented and hard-working individuals who are passionate about connecting skilled hourly professionals with local businesses who need their services.

Our Employee Spotlight series takes the opportunity to highlight members of our team and to give a glimpse into our culture and what it’s like to work at Instawork. To highlight the diversity of our team, we’ve asked Jesus Hernandez, Recruiting Coordinator, to share more about his experience working at Instawork.

What do you do at Instawork and how long have you been with the company?

I began my career at Instawork in April 2022 as a contract recruiting coordinator. June 2022 is a memorable month for me because I was afforded the opportunity to become a full-time employee at this amazing company!

What initially attracted you to Instawork?

Instawork's mission to create economic opportunities for local businesses and professionals (Pros) caught my attention. I love the opportunity our platform provides to people needing or wanting to earn additional income.

What's your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part about being a recruiting coordinator at Instawork is the developmental opportunities Instawork provides by allowing me to participate in events, such our partnership with Hiring Our Heroes to connect members of the military community with jobs.

I'm proud to be a veteran and my 16 years of military background enables me to understand military jargon and provide guidance to military, veterans and spouses interested in a career at Instawork!

Additionally, working with members of my team, such as Albert Delgado and Kenia Garcia, makes me feel at home. The camaraderie within the team is similar to my days of active duty with the California Army National Guard.

What is one piece of “work from home” equipment you couldn’t live without?

It would be tough for me to live without my oversize monitor!

What's the most important thing you've learned since starting at Instawork?

Working under the tutelage of Instawork's Head of Talent, Trish English, and team member Evan Hudson has allowed me to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions to any areas of improvement, problems, or opportunities.

In 10 words or less, how would you describe the culture at Instawork?

Energetic, passionate, enthusiastic, and driven. Instawork is a culture of momentum!
